Vacation in Maine, Day 3

On Sunday, we decided we would go on a whale watch. We got downtown a little early so we walked around and came across this:

We started our trip on the Friendship V

Lobster boats in the harbor

It ended up we didn't see any whales - they told us that this time of year they move around a lot to find food. Later in the summer they tend to stay in one place more. We did see some other things.

Several lighthouses, on islands in the ocean

Harbor seals and puffins swimming

Some other harbor seals sunning themselves on the rocks

Also some of the "smaller" homes in the area.

After the boat ride we went out to eat at the "Route 66 Restaurant" It is a neat little place with lots of nostalgia on the walls, and good food too.

After dinner we took a drive around Acadia National Park, we came across some wildlife including some deer, and this porcupine, having a snack up a tree.
